How to Have Eternal Life and secure admission in Heaven after Death...

Eternal life in the biblical sense is the process of ever getting younger and younger, and communing with the living God in an unending communion. 

The obtaining of eternal life is simple: we put our trust in Christ and in Christ alone for our salvation. Everyone who puts their trust in Christ alone, as the Bible promises, as Jesus promises, has life eternal (John 3:16). There’s no other way to get it except by faith alone. It’s not by our works (Eph. 2:8–9). We can’t merit it. We can’t earn it. We can’t deserve it. We put our trust in Christ, who alone is worthy of the gift of eternal life.

In obtaining eternal life, it is also necessary to seek diligently, to seek diligently. And so you have a person who knows what they don’t have, wants it, and is willing to seek Jesus, you know, waited for the man to come to Him. And we see that very often in our Lord’s life. Of course, the prophet of the Old Testament, Isaiah, said, “If you seek Me with all your heart, you’ll find Me.” And so here’s a diligent seeker.

In the book of Genesis when Adam and Eve were created, they were put on probation. If they obeyed God, then they could have the tree of life. If they disobeyed, they would lose it. And what happened? They disobeyed and they lost it.

Then we come to the New Testament, and Jesus appears as the new Adam. Where the first Adam was disobedient and plunged the world into ruin and into death, the new Adam is perfectly obedient. And by His perfect obedience, He wins for His people the reward of obedience, eternal life.

“God is angry with sinners every day.” A good God, a holy God, a pure God can’t tolerate evil at all. So Jesus affirms what must always be affirmed, that there’s a divine law which must be kept; and if you violate that law, you’re under the judgment of God.

The most wonderful thing in the world is to know for certain that you have eternal life and that you will go to heaven when you die.  The most awful thing in the world is to have doubts and fears about where you will spend eternity.

The good news is that God has told us in the Bible how to have eternal life.  Eternal life is available to anyone and that includes you!  The way of salvation is outlined in the four following statements:

YOU MUST REALIZE that you are a sinner.  The Bible says that “all have sinned and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).  To “sin” means to break God’s law, to miss the mark, or step out of bounds.  We are all guilty!  Sin brings separation from God and the life that God offers. 

YOU MUST RECOGNIZE that Jesus is God’s Son.  The most familiar verse in the Bible says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).  Jesus died on the cross for your sin.  Jesus arose from the dead to purchase your salvation. 

YOU MUST REPENT of your sin.  Jesus said, “Except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish” (Luke 13:3,5).  “Repent” means to have a change of mind that results in a change of heart and a change of direction.  It is like making a u-turn on the highway.  Repentance is saying, “I don’t like the road I’m on.  I don’t like the direction I’m headed.  I sure don’t like where this road is taking me.”

YOU MUST RECEIVE Jesus as your Savior.  The Bible says that, “as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name” (John 1:12).  To “receive” Jesus means to place your faith in Him.  All you have to do is accept Jesus and confess Him as your personal Savior and Lord.

According to Christian belief, the way to go to heaven is through accepting Jesus Christ as your savior and having faith in his sacrifice, which means repenting for your sins and asking for God's forgiveness; essentially, believing that Jesus' death on the cross paid the price for your sins, granting you eternal life in heaven. 

Key points about reaching heaven in Christianity:

• Faith in Jesus:

  The central belief is that you must accept Jesus as your savior to enter heaven. 

• Repentance:

  This means acknowledging your sins and turning away from them, seeking forgiveness from God. 

• Grace through faith:

  Salvation is considered a gift from God received through faith in Jesus, not by good works alone. 

As Christians, we believe that the way to heaven is through faith in Jesus and His atoning sacrifice. By trusting in Jesus' death and resurrection, believers are reconciled with God and granted eternal life. Heaven is depicted in the Bible as a place of eternal joy and fellowship with God.

According to the Bible, you should help others because it is a direct command from God, reflecting love and compassion, and serves as a way to live out your faith by following Jesus' example of selfless service, essentially demonstrating love for God by caring for others in need; it is considered a holy act and a way to be a blessing to others, with the promise of reward from God for your good deeds. 

A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed. Giving is the only arena in which God invites us to actually test it (Malachi 3:10), not so we will get more, but so we can see that he has everything and wants to be generous to us. When we honor God with our gifts, we acknowledge that he has everything we need and has promised to take care of us.
